Whether you have golf club bags, skis, a surfboard, or fishing or diving equipment, it is possible to travel with your special baggage.
For example, Air France will transport your large sports equipment, as long it weighs no more than 23 kg / 50 lbs. (or 32 kg / 70 lbs. in Business or La Première cabins). Their total dimensions, however, must not exceed 300 cm / 118 in.
The transport of special baggage (unusually heavy or cumbersome baggage) is often subject to additional fees or prior approval requirements. Furthermore, baggage falling outside of the typical dimensions will be delivered separately, on a different carousel than normal baggage. This may apply, for example, to sporting equipment (competition bicycles, canoes, etc.) necessary for enjoying your favorite sport, or to musical instruments.
Baggage Check at CDG Airport : A Practical Solution
By leaving your suitcases or special baggage at a baggage check, you’ll be able to get around Paris with your hands free. So if you arrive in the morning and depart in the evening from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, you’ll be able to visit the capital unencumbered and come back later in the day for your connecting flight.
If you have used special baggage transport, with items too burdensome to take on the RER train, you can also leave those bulky items at the baggage check. HelloPassenger also offers to transport your special baggage from the airport to your home and vice versa.
